Questions about membership and dues? Find your answers here!

According to the Constitution and By laws governing the AFA , a union member or service fee payer who fails to pay dues/fees in a timely manner runs the risk of their employment being terminated.  If you receive a letter from AFA concerning late dues, please take care of this immediately.  If you feel there is a discrepancy please contact AFA membership at 1-800-424-2401 Ext. 3.

As a reminder, it is a flight attendants responsibility to ensure that his/her union dues and fees are paid in a timely manner. As of the ratification of the 2005 contract, all flight attendants are required to pay a monthly fee as a contribution for the administration of the Agreement and for representation.

Council 57 suggests that you review each and every pay check to ensure your dues are deducted from your pay if you are on payroll deduction. If you do not receive a pay check for a pay period, then union dues have not been deducted and AFA will send you a bill. Also, union dues are the last item to be deducted from you pay. If you paycheck falls to $0, please ensure that the full $21.50 has been deducted for union dues.

If you pay your dues by mail, you must mail your payment each month. Also, if you are on a promissory note (payment plan), in order to remain in good standing, you must make a payment every month. Terms of your payments can be found on your promissory agreement.

If you are out of work for any reason (OJI, Medical, Voluntary leave, etc.), you are required by AFA to pay dues for the first ninety days of your leave. Again, AFA will send you a bill if dues are not collected by the company. You have the option of mailing your payment in or you can pay your dues online at www.afanet.org and follow the pay your dues online link on the left side of the page.
